Anything is possible with a Moto

I picked this book a long time ago in Shibat's office, but now... now I really know and appreciate the capabilities of the moto.

Enchanted Forest

I'm digging this out of the closet. Does anyone else remember this board game called Enchanted Forest. I remember family members groaning when I brought this out. "Again?" they'd say. I wanted to get completely lost in this game because the illustrations were fascinating. They were based on fairy tales and captured the characters and objects so realistically.

If you've never heard of the game, it's basically just a form of memory. You match the card to the tree, but you have to remember where the specific tree was in the forest and they all look alike. The act of playing the game, though slow compared to current games, really peaked my imagination. Each step through the forest was fill in my head with squawking crows and shadows moving mysteriously through the woods. It was creepy and magical.. and all thanks to the illustrations which provided such a perfect springboard.

A Chair for my Mother

We were doing homework the other night and Sreysros came up to me with something familiar in her hand. As she handed it to me to read, I had to look twice. It was MY favorite children's book! I read it religiously when I was little. Here I am across the world reading it to these amazing kids. I'll admit it is kind of strange culturally speaking, they don't really have cushy chairs here, so the story might not make a lot of sense, but the illustrations are still the most beautiful mix of patterns and color.

A Chair for my Mother  Written and Illustrated by Vera B. Williams

Thanks for reading to me so much mom, makes for pleasant dreams and lots of inspired playtimes.

New Year New Calendar

This calendar shreds the day as it's happening, how's that for..motivation...discouragement... I guess it depends on whether the glass is full or empty, but it's very clever either way. At the end of the day, you pick up time and recycle it. Designed by Susanna Hertrich

Thao Nguyen

If you like: acoustic guitar, female vocals, upbeat pace, folk, indie
.....Thao Nguyen and her band Thao and the Get Down Stay Down

Espeically: - Beat (Health, Life, and Fire)
This guitar part is really complex. I love it. Some of her other songs have some great parts too.

I can tell that she has a natural passion for the music and an ear for songwriting. I dont think she's got a great voice, but it works in its uniqueness. When I listen to her music I just hear the potential of the albums to come. Hey Thao, if you hear me. Don't let anyone tell you what your music should sound like. Go your own way.

Thao Don't get down!
